I try to encourage people to touch my sculptures, to feel that the fur or feathers are actually made of wood although it appears to be  real. I love nature and it's beauty and can only try to bring a little piece of that into my work. Being anatomically correct is necessary, but equally important is to portray an attitude or personality in the piece. When it's time to set the eyes in an animal or bird, I believe that I have accomplished my goal when it looks back at me. My sculptures sometimes become my pets. 

The turnings are made of hard woods chosen to compliment the design so that it can be held and appreciated for it=s natural beauty.

My husband John & I own and operate a machining service. He is my partner and critic and being a toolmaker, he has a keen eye and an engineering knowledge sometimes needed when creating wood sculptures.

I have much more to learn and look forward to every minute.
